The career I have chosen is electrical engineering tech. This job involves you to do work in both the office and on a construction site. The pay is great. Low pay is about 20 dollars an hour, average is 28 or 30 dollars an hour, and high is about 40 dollars an hour unless I move to Alberta then the high would be 70 dollars an hour which is really good.
I have always been interested in engineering. I find it interesting because it involves a lot thinking and at the same time it involves using your hands to build circuits and do other things. I believe that I am very suitable for this job because when I try in science and math I am really great in those classes, I am also really great working with my hands. For example, in the classes like woodwork and metal work which only involves working with your hands and a little bit of math. My duties are as followed:
-Design and test electrical systems
-Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, such as motors and generators
-Install and maintain electrical equipment
-Test electrical systems or products for commercial, industrial, or residential use
-Analyze and interpret test data and write reports for engineers
The only concerns I have about this job is the safety. I will have to wear safety equipment, of course, but i will be working with machines that involve electricity so i might get shocked. I will be going to B.C.I.T and will be taking the electrical/electronics engineering tech course. The tuition is a bit over 5000 for 1 year and I need to take 2-3 years to get the top job.
